5G mmWave (24–100 GHz) · Ka-band satellite (26.5–40 GHz) · W-band imaging (75–110 GHz)

Frequency Range30–300 GHz
Wavelength1–10 mm
ITU / StandardITU Band 11

Applications

  • 5G mmWave (24–100 GHz)
  • Ka-band satellite (26.5–40 GHz)
  • W-band imaging (75–110 GHz)
  • Automotive radar (77 GHz)
  • Wireless backhaul

Propagation Characteristics

Severe atmospheric absorption, especially at 60 GHz (oxygen) and 183 GHz (water vapor). Very short range in dense deployments. High data rates possible.
