Super High Frequency (SHF)
5G mid-band (3.5 GHz) · Wi-Fi 5 GHz / 6 GHz · Satellite Ku-band (12–18 GHz)
| Frequency Range | 3–30 GHz |
| Wavelength | 1–10 cm |
| ITU / Standard | ITU Band 10 |
Applications

- →Wi-Fi 5 GHz / 6 GHz
- →Satellite Ku-band (12–18 GHz)
- →X-band radar (8–12 GHz)
- →Point-to-point microwave links
Propagation Characteristics
Line-of-sight only. Rain attenuation becomes significant above 10 GHz. Antenna gain is practical with small apertures at these frequencies.
Regulatory Notes
Wi-Fi 5 GHz: 5.15–5.85 GHz. Wi-Fi 6 GHz: 5.925–7.125 GHz (US/EU varies). 5G n77/n78/n79 bands: 3.3–5.0 GHz.
