Capacitor Code Decoder
POSThttps://rftools.io/ api/ py/ v1/ calculate
Slug capacitor-code. Decode 3-digit capacitor code (e.g., 104 = 100nF) to capacitance in pF, nF, and μF. Works with ceramic, film, and tantalum capacitor markings.
Inputs
Send every one of these in inputs, in the units shown. Most are required: a call without one is refused (400) and costs nothing; one the calculator can do without takes the default shown. An input outside its range is still computed and flagged in the provenance.
| Name | Unit | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| codenumber | none | 100 … 999 | 104 | 3-digit code: the first two digits are the significant figures and the third is the power of 10 in pF, except that 8 means ×0.01 and 9 means ×0.1 (EIA-198 / IEC 60062). For example, 104 is 10 × 10⁴ pF, 100 nF |
Outputs
Returned in values, by key. A value that is unbounded or undefined is null.
| Field | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|
| picofaradsheadline | pF | Capacitance in picofarads (pF) |
| nanofarads | nF | Capacitance in nanofarads (nF) |
| microfarads | μF | Capacitance in microfarads (μF) |
Calling it
- Calculate: one call, the request and response in full, and its errors.
- Batch: this calculator with others, or a sweep, in one request.
- Solve for a target: the value of one input that brings an output to a target.
