Frequency to Wavelength Converter
POSThttps://rftools.io/ api/ py/ v1/ calculate
Slug frequency-wavelength. Convert frequency to wavelength instantly: 150 MHz = 2.0 m, 2.4 GHz = 12.5 cm, 5.8 GHz = 5.2 cm. Calculates full, half, and quarter wavelengths for any medium — antenna design, coax, and RF planning.
Inputs
Send every one of these in inputs, in the units shown. Most are required: a call without one is refused (400) and costs nothing; one the calculator can do without takes the default shown. An input outside its range is still computed and flagged in the provenance.
| Name | Unit | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| frequencynumber | MHz | at least 0.001 | 2400 | Signal frequency in MHz |
| velocityFactornumber | none | 0.01 … 1 | 1 | Velocity factor of the medium: 1.0 = free space, about 0.95 = open-wire line, 0.85 = foam coax, 0.66 = solid-PE coax, about 0.55 = FR4 microstrip |
Outputs
Returned in values, by key. A value that is unbounded or undefined is null.
| Field | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|
| wavelengthheadline | m | Full wavelength in meters |
| wavelengthCm | cm | Full wavelength in centimeters |
| wavelengthMm | mm | Full wavelength in millimeters |
| halfWave | m | Half wavelength — typical dipole antenna length |
| quarterWave | m | Quarter wavelength — typical monopole antenna length |
Calling it
- Calculate: one call, the request and response in full, and its errors.
- Batch: this calculator with others, or a sweep, in one request.
- Solve for a target: the value of one input that brings an output to a target.
