Op-Amp Gain & Bandwidth Calculator
POSThttps://rftools.io/ api/ py/ v1/ calculate
Slug opamp-gain. Calculate op-amp voltage gain, gain in dB, −3 dB bandwidth, and input impedance for inverting, non-inverting, and differential amplifier configurations.
Inputs
Send every one of these in inputs, in the units shown. Most are required: a call without one is refused (400) and costs nothing; one the calculator can do without takes the default shown. An input outside its range is still computed and flagged in the provenance.
| Name | Unit | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| configurationnumber | none | 0 … 2 | 1 | Amplifier Configuration |
| r1number | kΩ | 0.001 … 10000 | 10 | R1 (feedback resistor Rf) |
| r2number | kΩ | 0.001 … 10000 | 1 | R2 (input resistor Rin) |
| gbwProductnumber | MHz | 0.001 … 10000 | 1 | Op-amp gain-bandwidth product from datasheet. LM741=1MHz, TL071=3MHz, NE5534=10MHz |
| supplyVoltagenumber | V | 1.8 … 60 | 15 | Total supply: ±15V → enter 30V |
| eSeriesnumber | none | 0 … 96 | 0 | Rounds every part to the nearest value in the series; the response and the export are the rounded design's. |
Outputs
Returned in values, by key. A value that is unbounded or undefined is null.
| Field | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|
| gainheadline | V/V | Negative value indicates phase inversion (inverting configuration) |
| gainDb | dB | Gain above 60 dB may cause instability or oscillation |
| f3db_kHz | kHz | −3 dB Bandwidth |
| inputImpedance_kohm | kΩ | Non-inverting ≈ ∞ (shown as 1e9 kΩ); Inverting = Rin; Differential = 2×Rin |
| maxOutputVpp | Vpp | Typical maximum output swing ≈ 80% of total supply voltage |
Calling it
- Calculate: one call, the request and response in full, and its errors.
- Batch: this calculator with others, or a sweep, in one request.
- Solve for a target: the value of one input that brings an output to a target.
