Tweeter Protection Capacitor
POSThttps://rftools.io/ api/ py/ v1/ calculate
Slug tweeter-capacitor. Calculate the capacitor value for a first-order tweeter high-pass filter to protect tweeters from low-frequency damage.
Inputs
Send every one of these in inputs, in the units shown. Most are required: a call without one is refused (400) and costs nothing; one the calculator can do without takes the default shown. An input outside its range is still computed and flagged in the provenance.
| Name | Unit | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tweetImpedancenumber | Ω | at least 1 | 8 | Tweeter Impedance |
| crossoverFreqnumber | Hz | at least 100 | 3000 | Crossover Frequency |
| eSeriesnumber | none | 0 … 96 | 0 | Rounds every part to the nearest value in the series; the response and the export are the rounded design's. |
Outputs
Returned in values, by key. A value that is unbounded or undefined is null.
| Field | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|
| capacitanceMicroFheadline | μF | 1/(2π·f_c·Z_t), rounded to the part series when one is chosen |
| reactanceAt1k | Ω | Reactance at 1 kHz |
| rolloffAt100Hz | dB | Rolloff at 100 Hz |
| crossoverBuilt | Hz | The −3 dB point of the rounded capacitor into the tweeter's nominal impedance, 1/(2π·C·Z_t); the crossover entered with the ideal value |
Calling it
- Calculate: one call, the request and response in full, and its errors.
- Batch: this calculator with others, or a sweep, in one request.
- Solve for a target: the value of one input that brings an output to a target.
