Dual Stripline Impedance Calculator

POSThttps://rftools.io/api/py/v1/calculate

Slug dual-stripline. Calculate impedance for both signal layers of a dual stripline (two routing layers sharing one plane pair), plus the broadside crosstalk penalty when traces overlap.

Inputs

Send every one of these in inputs, in the units shown. Most are required: a call without one is refused (400) and costs nothing; one the calculator can do without takes the default shown. An input outside its range is still computed and flagged in the provenance.

Inputs of dual-stripline
NameUnitRangeDefaultDescription
traceWidthnumbermm0.02 … 100.13Trace Width
planeSpacingnumbermmat least 0.050.8Total dielectric height between the two reference planes
layer1Offsetnumbermm0.01 … 50.2Layer 1 to Upper Plane
layerSeparationnumbermmat least 0.010.33Separation Between Signal Layers
copperThicknessnumberμmat least 535Copper Thickness
dielectricConstnumbernoneat least 14.2Dielectric Constant
frequencynumberGHz0.001 … 3002.4Used only for the guided wavelength; the impedance does not depend on it in this model

Outputs

Returned in values, by key. A value that is unbounded or undefined is null.

Calling it

  • Calculate: one call, the request and response in full, and its errors.
  • Batch: this calculator with others, or a sweep, in one request.
  • Solve for a target: the value of one input that brings an output to a target.
