GPS L2 (1227.60 MHz)
GPS L2C civilian signal · Carrier-phase GNSS for RTK surveying · Ionospheric correction (dual-frequency)
| Frequency Range | 1227.60 MHz |
| Wavelength | 24.4 cm |
| ITU / Standard | — |
Applications
- →GPS L2C civilian signal
- →Carrier-phase GNSS for RTK surveying
- →Ionospheric correction (dual-frequency)
Propagation Characteristics
Same orbital altitude as L1. Dual-frequency L1+L2 receivers can correct for ionospheric delay, enabling centimeter-level accuracy.
Regulatory Notes
RNSS protected band. L2C signal added on Block IIR-M satellites (2005+). Older Block II/IIA satellites transmit military P(Y) code only on L2.
